Offer Description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Department of Applied Biosciences aims to contribute to improvements in food production, environmental sustainability, and human health by elucidating the mechanisms underlying diverse biological phenomena relevant to agriculture through cutting-edge approaches in life and molecular sciences. The Department also promotes research and education that establish the foundation for the practical application and further development of these discoveries.
We invite applications for a Professor position in Plant Science. Plants have evolved diverse mechanisms to perceive changes in both internal and external environments and to regulate their growth and development accordingly. Elucidating these mechanisms at the molecular, cellular, and organismal levels provides fundamental knowledge essential for a comprehensive understanding of plant physiology and for improving plant productivity. We therefore seek an outstanding scientist with a strong record of achievement in this field who can lead innovative research based on these foundations and contribute to the advancement of research and education within the Department. In addition to teaching general education courses in related fields, undergraduate and graduate specialized courses, and supervising student research, the successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute to departmental and university administration with enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility.
