Offer Description
Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) announces call for applications for the following academic vacancy:
Professor in Private International Law (1 FTE), for election term of 6 years.
Requirements for applicants:
- PhD degree in law.
- At least three years of academic work experience as an associate professor.
- At least five years of pedagogical work experience in both Latvian and English.
- Experience in teaching the following study courses “Private International Law”, “Contract Law”, “Introduction to Civil Law”.
- Experience in coaching teams for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
- At least three academic publications in the past three years which have been indexed in Scopus or Web of Science Core Collection. This is a mandatory requirement.
- Experience in international research projects.
- At least C1 level in English.
- At least C1 level in Latvian.
Main tasks:
- Developing and delivering study courses, as well as supervising students’ research work on Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes.
- Conducting research, and developing and supervising research projects.
- Development and management of a research programme.
- Preparing and publishing scientific articles in international scientific journals indexed in the Scopus database.
- Participating in the university’s internal governing bodies.
- Engaging in the university’s collaboration with the public and industry representatives.
- Other duties as specified in the job description for the position of professor.
Monthly salary starting from EUR 3600 (bruto) for a full-time position.
