Background of the recruitment and description of the project
To further strengthen its teaching and research capacity in statistics, the Faculty of Data Science invites applications for a faculty position specializing in this field. We seek a candidate who can contribute to education and research in data analysis grounded in statistics and who is also willing to actively apply statistics and data analysis to fields such as sports.
Work content and job description
The successful candidate will engage in teaching and research in the field of statistics within the Faculty of Data Science. Responsibilities will also include teaching courses related to the candidate’s area of expertise, supervising seminars and undergraduate research, contributing to Faculty and University administration, participating in admissions-related duties, and engaging in community and public outreach activities.

In addition to the areas specified under the designated research fields, the position may also cover applied statistics, computational statistics, data science, and evidence-based policy making (EBPM).
The successful candidate should preferably be capable of teaching and conducting research that applies statistics and data analysis to fields such as sports.
Classes are taught in Japanese. Japanese is also used in meetings and other administrative activities.

- Annual salary: 7 million yen - 12 million yen
- Wages description: The amount shown is for reference only. The actual salary will be determined in accordance with the Rissho University Educational Corporation Salary Regulations.
- Working hours: 09:00-21:45
- Holidays: Sundays, national holidays prescribed by the Act on National Holidays, the University’s Foundation Day, and the year-end and New Year holidays. Employees may be required to work on holidays, or a weekly day off may be rescheduled to another day, by decision of the relevant University body.
- Overtime and other explanations: The working hours indicated above correspond to the hours during which classes are offered at the University and may vary depending on the class periods assigned to the employee. Other terms and conditions shall be governed by the Rissho University Educational Corporation Work Regulations.
