- representation of the subject Composition in the development of the arts and in teaching
- teaching in central artistic subjects
- auditing activities
- supervision of students (diploma, bachelor and master studies)
- participation in artistic research at the mdw (including supervision of artistic dissertations)
- contributions to organizational, administrative and evaluation tasks
Salary: according to the Austrian collective agreement, the monthly gross pay is a minimum of € 6.713,30 (14 times/year). A possible higher salary, depending on qualification and previous experience, is subject to negotiation.

- completed domestic or equivalent foreign tertiary education in composition (Diploma or Master) corresponding to the intended assignment. Tertiary education may be substituted by equivalent excellent artistic work.
- outstanding artistic qualification for the subject, proven by an artistic portfolio (catalogue of works, representative performances/recordings and composition commissions)
- active and prolific international activity in composition
- pedagogical and didactic experience in education and/or continuing education relevant to the specific field of music composition
Specific Requirements
- international experience in the field of music composition and its teaching in post-secondary education
- experience in the field of electroacoustic music and multimedia
- working knowledge of non-classical and non-European music as well as in the areas of (musical) theatre and film
- publications on issues related to contemporary music and its performance
- management qualities
