Job Summary:
The Professor of Law is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate law courses, conducting high-quality research, publishing scholarly work, and contributing to the academic and administrative development of the law faculty. The role involves mentoring students, participating in curriculum development, and engaging in institutional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach core and elective law subjects (e.g., Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Corporate Law, etc.)
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and teaching methods
- Conduct original research and publish in reputable journals
- Supervise student research, dissertations, and theses
- Mentor and guide students on academic and career matters
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and academic governance
- Contribute to curriculum design and program development
- Engage in community outreach, legal aid, and professional activities
- Stay updated with developments in legal education and practice
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Law (LL.M. with strong academic record may be considered in some cases)
- Qualified in relevant eligibility tests (e.g., UGC-NET in India, if applicable)
- Strong record of research publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Teaching experience at university level (Assistant/Associate Professor experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated expertise in a specific area of law
