Professor of Practice in Accounting and Taxation
The Department of Accounting & Taxation in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applicants for a Professor of Practice position in Accounting & Taxation beginning Fall 2026. This person would join a department of 5 full-time faculty, which is part of the Meehan School of Business, consisting of 29 full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. This position carries a non-tenure track status. This is a full-time on-campus position, and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program in the Meehan School of Business is AACSB-accredited and offers majors in Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, International Business, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Sport Management, and Talent & Human Resources Management. The Meehan School of Business also offers minors in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Healthcare Management. At the graduate level, Stonehill College offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA), as well as a Master of Science in Data Analytics and a Master of Science in Marketing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will deliver courses at the undergraduate level. The course load is 8 courses per academic year (4 per semester) and may include: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate (Financial) Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics for Accountants, Individual Taxation, Taxation of Entities. The typical teaching load is four courses per semester (fall/spring) with the option to teach courses during summer and winter sessions. A commitment to service to the Department, School, and College is also essential. The applicant must show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals.
Education & Experience
We seek applicants with a strong interest in teaching and applied practice in the fields of Accounting or Taxation. Candidates must hold at least a master’s degree (e.g., MBA, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Taxation). Professional certification (e.g., CPA), undergraduate teaching experience, current professional practice, and ongoing engagement with the professional community are strongly preferred. A commitment to service to the Department, School, and College is also essential. The applicant must show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals.
