Professor of the Practice Faculty Position in Computer Science
The Computer Science Department of Boston College seeks to fill one teaching faculty position with the title Assistant Professor of the Practice of Computer Science. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position with a three-year renewable contract, to begin in the Fall 2026 semester. The teaching load is 5 semester courses per year. Our priority is to hire an outstanding teacher, who is capable of teaching both lower-division and upper-division levels courses, and who can contribute positively to our department's teaching environment. Preference will be given specifically to qualified candidates with experience teaching introductory programming, logic, algorithms, and complexity.
The expected 9-month base salary range (paid over 12 months) for this Assistant Professor of the Practice position is $120,000-$126,000. The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
