Professor-On-Call
Position Summary
Major Position Responsibilities:
- (i) Consult and advise on nuclear and radiochemistry matters pertaining to FRIB
- (ii) Support a potential search in radio chemistry
- (iii) Support the science division via proofreading grant applications of junior researchers
- (iv) Assist the N4 team in addressing scientific questions related to the gas stopping of rare isotopes

Required Degree
Doctorate -Chemistry, Nuclear Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Nuclear Physics or closely related field
Minimum Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Nuclear Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Nuclear Physics, or a closely related field.
- Significant experience conducting research in nuclear chemistry, radiochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement, including peer-reviewed publications, externally funded research, and scientific leadership.
- Experience reviewing, evaluating, and providing feedback on scientific proposals, grant applications, and technical documents.

Work Hours
The position is expected to include up to 10 hours per week on an as-needed basis and will focus on providing consultation and scientific expertise in support of FRIB’s research mission.
