Professor or Associate Professor in International Business
We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for a highly motivated senior International Business academic with leadership experience conducting cross-disciplinary research and teaching at either the nexus of International Business and Technology or International Business and Social Impact to make significant impact as a Professor or Associate Professor in International Business. You will develop your career in teaching, research, and service, while providing leadership to colleagues in these areas.
We embrace practice-led and research-informed approaches to teaching for transformative student experiences. You will be expected to publish in top-tier journals (A and A* in ABDC or ABS3 and above in CABS rankings) and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research. The role includes seeking external research funding and contributing to school activities, including staff guidance, curriculum development, and research leadership.
Qualifications required include: a PhD in International Business or related field; significant undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing experience; ability to contribute to curriculum growth; a track record of supervising students; and experience in executive education. Research requirements include leading initiatives, publishing in top journals, establishing international networks, and securing grants.
The role also involves academic citizenship, such as engaging with external stakeholders, media, and supporting equity initiatives. You must have an open, collaborative attitude and value diversity.
The appointment is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) at AUT's City Campus in Auckland, with a salary range of NZD $148,548 - $171,983 for Associate Professor or $162,608 - $209,052 for Professor. Start date is early 2026. Applications close on Tuesday 7 October.
