Background of the recruitment and description of the project
This position is a replacement for a retiring faculty member and is intended to strengthen teaching and research in Probability Theory-related subjects in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Engineering, as well as in the Probability Theory Major of the Department of Mathematics, Graduate School of Science and Engineering.
Work content and job description
- Teaching undergraduate courses in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Engineering, including Mathematical Information-related subjects and general education courses (e.g., calculus and linear algebra)
- Teaching and supervising at the graduate level in the field of Mathematical Information in the Department of Mathematics, Graduate School of Science and Engineering
- Participation in undergraduate admissions duties

Compensation
Annual salary: 6 million yen - 14 million yen
Wages description: According to university regulations. Professor: Approximately ¥9,000,000 to ¥14,000,000. Associate Professor: Approximately ¥7,000,000 to ¥13,000,000. Assistant Professor: Approximately ¥6,000,000 to ¥12,000,000. Includes year-end bonuses and family allowances.
The stated amounts are model salaries and are not guaranteed. Year-end bonuses may vary annually.
Working hours: 08:50-17:20
Holidays: Sundays, national holidays (except class days), summer break (August 8 – August 17), New Year holidays (December 28 – January 4)
Overtime and other explanations: Working hours may be set to one of the following: 8:50 AM – 5:20 PM, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, or 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM, and are decided through consultation each time. However, if these are difficult to follow, the university may change working and break hours.
