Expected skills

Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions. They must identify with UGA’s values, that is, being open to the world, emphasising ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, in particular with regard to environmental and social issues.

Context and educational objectives

Educational expectations

Université Grenoble Alpes’s INSPE (Faculty of Education) trains future primary and secondary school teachers as well as guidance counselors on its four geographical locations. The courses taught in this position will cover all of the training programmes offered by INSPE.

The successful candidate will contribute to training in social psychology applied to learning and education, particularly in relation to the emotional and motivational processes involved in all educational situations. A solid knowledge of social psychology is therefore expected, as well as an ability to articulate these contributions with other teaching related to educational practices. The successful candidate will also participate in training in and through educational research and must have a thorough understanding of the diversity of methodological approaches and their complementarity.

In general, this university professor position is part of INSPE's desire to continue strengthening the link between training, research, and professional practices. It will serve as a lever to fuel collective reflection on research topics and to support evidence-based training. With this in mind, the successful candidate will play a leading role in structuring and bringing cohesion to the teaching team, working closely with teacher-researchers and teachers in related disciplines (psychology, sociology, philosophy, education sciences) and subject-specific teaching methods. This commitment will aim to strengthen the continuity and complementarity of approaches within training models, in the service of an integrated vision of learning and professional practices.

Research project and scientific impact

Scientific profile

The successful candidate will join the Laboratory for Research on Learning in Context (LaRAC), a research unit in the field of Educational Sciences, focused on the study of learning processes in context, through a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches.

The successful candidate will strengthen the laboratory’s research themes related to social cognition, by contributing to the study of the role of socio-affective and psychosocial factors in school learning, particularly regarding processes of self-regulation, self-assessment, and perception of school context, within a perspective of social psychology applied to education. Applications grounded in a rigorous empirical approach, mobilising quantitative or mixed methods, and relying on experimental or quasi-experimental protocols in classroom settings, will be especially valued.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with researchers from other disciplines within the laboratory (cognitive psychology, didactics, or sociology), to actively contribute to ongoing research projects at LaRAC, and to initiate new ones.

They will also be involved in the supervision of master’s dissertations and doctoral theses.

Finally, international engagement is expected, through publications in high-impact journals, participation in international scientific networks, and active involvement in research partnerships and responses to calls for proposals.
