The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is seeking outstanding candidates for appointments in Geroscience at the levels of Professor/Associate Professor and Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track).
We seek applications from outstanding researchers across career stages, from early-career investigators with a strong and growing record of impactful research and academic excellence, to established researchers with a sustained record of impactful research, competitive grant funding, mentorship, and academic leadership. Successful candidates will develop and support research projects, including interdisciplinary initiatives, with faculty in the field of ageing research at LKCMedicine, across the wider NTU community, and with relevant clinical partners. These projects may address broader aspects of health related to ageing, including, but not limited to, cognitive dysfunction, neurodegeneration, metabolic disorders, cancer, inflammation, and innovative therapeutic interventions.
Established in 2010, LKCMedicine has rapidly built a strong reputation as both a research-intensive and education-focused medical school in Singapore. The School anchors eight flagship research programmes: Neuroscience & Mental Health, Skin Disease & Wound Repair, Nutrition, Metabolism & Health, Respiratory & Infectious Diseases, Population & Global Health, Microbiome Medicine, Cancer Discovery & Regenerative Medicine, and Data Science & Artificial Intelligence. These programmes reflect our commitment to advancing cutting-edge research spanning fundamental discovery to translational application.
Singapore’s strong governmental support for research and innovation has enabled sustained growth in national research funding over the past three decades, from S$2 billion to S$37 billion in successive five-year plans. With more than 70 full-time faculty members representing 18 nationalities, LKCMedicine offers a vibrant, diverse, and collaborative environment that nurtures excellence and fosters impactful interdisciplinary partnerships.
Successful appointees will receive highly competitive compensation packages and generous start-up funds and laboratory space to support their research programmes.
The positions will report to the Vice-Dean, Research and Dean of LKCMedicine. Appointees will be expected to contribute to the School’s strategic research agenda and to the education of both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Qualifications
- PhD and/or MBBS/MD with relevant postdoctoral or clinical experience
- Significant experience and an outstanding record in research and teaching, with scientific achievement, productivity, and impact in the field of ageing research and / or related areas commensurate with the level of appointment
- For Professor/Associate Professor candidates: an internationally recognised track record of research excellence, with strong leadership demonstrated through high-impact publications, competitive grant funding, mentorship, and a track record of supervising graduate students to successful completion of PhDs
- For Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) candidates: a strong and growing record of impactful research, academic excellence, and clear potential to establish an independent and externally funded research programme
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Experience and commitment to postgraduate and undergraduate education and training
