which is to be filled at the earliest possible date.

Job Description:

The profile of the professorship is characterized by teaching landscape construction and ecological engineering on the basis of nature-based climate adaptation.

The position holder (m/f/x) represents the professorship in an application-oriented manner in teaching, continuing education and research.

The main focus of the teaching activities lies in the degree programs in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning as well as Nature Conservation and Landscape Planning. This professorship comes with a teaching and research focus on the key areas mentioned, on considering their interaction, and on coordinating and developing the role of ecological engineering and landscape construction in the context of landscape development and environmental protection.

The professorship requires a high level of commitment to supervising bachelor's and master's theses, student projects and excursions, as well as to the strategic further development of the consecutive degree programs, the expansion and development of career-integrated, continuing-education and cooperative degree programs. Studying at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is based on intensive cooperation with companies as well as research and training partners.

To ensure the highest standards of research, we actively collaborate with national and international universities, research institutions, companies, professional associations, as well as other departments at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. Active participation in the acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects and research and development projects is expected.

Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has the right to award doctorates in research-intensive disciplines. Consequently, active participation in the inter-university Doctoral Center "Life Sciences" and in the research area "Sustainable Land Use" (Nachhaltige Landnutzung) are desirable.

Active participation in the University’s collaborative academic management structures (akademische Selbstverwaltung) is also one of the responsibilities of the professorship.

Requirement Profile:

We are looking for a person (m/f/d) with a proven track record and practical experience in the fields of appointment. A profound expertise in the fields of appointment and the required information technologies is expected.

The applicant (m/f/x) has graduated with university degree in the field(s) of appointment.

In teaching, the position holder is expected to teach the curriculum of landscape construction and ecological engineering in Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences applying current techniques. The module courses assigned to the professorship are to be further developed using modern didactic methods and working techniques. Current research findings are to be part of the curricula.

Furthermore, the future position holder should demonstrate expertise in the acquisition and implementation of collaborative and/or externally funded projects with partners from academia and practice, as well as the realization of publications on the aforementioned focus areas.

International networking in the field of expertise of the professorship comes as an advantage.

A good command of German is required, knowledge of English is desirable, as are intercultural skills.

Employment requirements:

The formal recruitment requirements are based on Section 35 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (HSG LSA).

Appointment to a professorship is made for the first time upon fulfillment of the prerequisites for a probationary civil servant position. If the prerequisites are not met, a temporary employment relationship under private law can be established.

If the candidate proves successful during the probationary period, the appointment will be converted into a civil servant position for life or the employment relationship under private law will be made permanent.
