Offer Description
The Medical University of Vienna (MedUni Vienna) with more than 6.500 employees and about 8.000 students is one of the largest academic medical schools in the EU area. At the Department for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery of the MedUni Vienna a Professorship Position for Experimental Regenerative Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery according to § 99 (1) university act 2002 is available, starting October 1, 2026. We offer a temporary appointment according to the Austrian Employees Act for a three years period.

Skills/Qualifications
Employment requirements:
- Completed degree in the natural sciences including a relevant doctoral degree, or an equivalent foreign university qualification appropriate to the position. Outstanding scientific qualifications in the field of experimental regenerative orthopedics, with expertise in both basic and translational research
- Expertise in experimental methods for investigating preventive measures and regenerative treatment approaches preferably for joint injuries and degenerative joint disease. Demonstrated success in the continuous acquisition of competitive third-party research funding
- Leadership and management experience, including expertise in coordinating research consortia and leading research projects
- Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration in research and development
- Demonstrated teaching competence
- International research experience
Specific Requirements
Expected from the applicant:
- Conduct interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in the field of experimental regenerative orthopedics and trauma surgery
- Demonstrate leadership competencies in accordance with the MedUni Vienna Leadership Framework
- Continue and strengthen internal and external collaborations with universities and non-university research institutions
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and a willingness to further develop their personal leadership and management competencies
