Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to conduct and participate effectively in small groups, speak effectively before groups, and/or teach classes for large and small groups.Implement existing SLCC EWB programming aimed at encouraging stress management, physical activity, healthy eating, mental and emotional wellness, and preventative health practices. Including national and state programming (e.g. National Diabetes Prevention Program, and Walk with Ease.Deliver health presentations based on the EWB programming schedule.Develop, organize, market, implement, and evaluate programs and events that further the EWB mission.Assist with all aspects of program delivery such as registering participants, reserving facilities, and preparing handouts/materials. Participate in booths at Health Fairs, Commencement and various campus events to market & promote EW programming.Evaluate programs, analyze outcomes, and summarize results. Serve as an employee wellness resource person to SLCC employees. Assist with entering data and maintaining records, attending Wellness Team and PWC meetings. Stay up to date on changing health data, research and best practices. Knowledge of behavior change theory. Deliver & facilitate Health Education Programming.Ability to handle confidential material. Familiarity with database and word processing programs. Ability to travel to multiple campus locations based on scheduled meetings and for business needs. Knowledge of common filing systems. Self-motivated and timely. Follow instructions and directions effectively. Strong business English skills, including effective writing, spelling, and vocabulary.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications- Experience delivering health presentations to large and small groups.
- One (1) year of work experience in health promotion.
- Some college, such as Associate's Degree or working toward Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, Exercise and Sport Science, or Behavioral Science and/or Health.
- Reliable transportation to travel to multiple campuses.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Health Promotion and Education, Public Health, or closely related health field preferred.
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
