Program Coordinator, Center for Literacy Education
Job Description Summary
Performs a variety of duties including overseeing day-to-day activities in the Center for Literacy Education and assisting the Director in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Part time position works 15 hours per week during the academic semester based on need.
Essential Functions
- Works closely with the Center’s director, making decisions regarding the day-to-day operations of the Center in keeping with the director’s vision.
- Coordinates the Center’s programming, events, and partnerships at the direction of the director, including managing event details, accommodations, and schedules.
- Coordinates grant applications and awards at the direction of the director.
- Oversees student assistants in the direction of the director.
- Assists director in all budgetary matters.
- Processes financial transactions, p-card transactions, and Center invoices using Workday.
- Collects/compiles/prepares information, such as annual reports, newsletters, bulletin boards, faculty/staff development forms, payroll forms, and additional memos, letters, reports, etc.
- Assists with updates and maintenance of the Center website, social media, and other digital platforms.
- Assists with all processes related to faculty and staff (e.g., recruitment/on-boarding, leaves, travel, course buyouts, exits.)
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to and willingness to oversee the day-to-day operations of a Center.
- Ability to solve problems and fix issues as they arise.
- Ability to manage and balance operating and grant budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and similar Google tools.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree with three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with programs such as Workday, WordPress, Cvent, and Canva.
