The Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Director on the planning and execution of all aspects of the program. The Program Coordinator fulfills administrative duties and financial management, provides curricular support, organizes student events and excursions, leads student discussions, collaborates with the director on outreach efforts to other institutions and the recruitment of students, and oversees alumni communications and the social media presence of the program.
Responsibilities
- Office management: Act as the general office manager, maintain an organized, efficient, and professional work environment, process invoices and check requests, maintain office equipment and supplies, and keep track of expenses.
- Fall semester class schedule support: Create weekly schedules for classes, events, workshops, and other activities and update Trinity/La MaMa google site. Communicate with instructors and guest artists. Manage submission protocol for outside dance practice classes and purchase class vouchers.
- Program outreach: Develop and maintain a lively social media presence. Collaborate with the program director on outreach to other colleges via mailings, mass emails, printed advertisements, and campus visits. Create innovative outreach marketing materials and invite and host faculty from other institutions to visit classes and rehearsals during the fall semester.
- Curricular support: Work closely with the director on choosing and purchasing performance and event tickets. Attend the weekly performances with the students and help facilitate class discussion.
- Pre- departure and orientation: Aid students in the process of internship selection and application. Organize pre-departure orientations as well as orientation events and excursions in New York City.
- Performance support: Support rehearsals and all aspects of the final performances, provide tech support and stage manage showcases.
- Emergency contact: During the Fall semester, share the responsibility of emergency contact for students with the program director.
- Alumni relations: Develop and coordinate the Trinity/La MaMa Alumni network, reaching out to past students of the program and setting up networking events, reunion gatherings, and potential guest artist opportunities for actively performing alumni.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years of relative work experience or specialized training that can be used in lieu of education requirement.
- Experience in arts administration
- Extensive knowledge of the interdisciplinary performing arts scene in New York and familiarity with the city
- Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects under pressure
- Excellent writing abilities and proficiency in computer programs, including Microsoft Excel
- A positive attitude, great interpersonal skills, professional phone manner, clear communication skills and ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and supportive manner
- Experience with stage management or stage tech
- Expertise in social media platforms
