Occupational Summary
The program director provides leadership and management of all aspects of an academic program by providing discipline-specific expertise, supervising staff and faculty members, addressing students’ needs, and maintaining a required teaching load.
Role and Responsibilities
- Teach required faculty load
- Lead continuous improvement discussions utilizing student learning assessment results
- Provide assistance to Dean for the oversight of curriculum
- Complete course staffing for assigned campuses
- Comply with accreditation mandates
- Pursue professional development
Nursing Program Addendum
The Program Director of Nursing is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Nursing program within the Health Division and serves as a leader in nursing education matters. Provides supervision and administrative leadership for the entire nursing program and staff. Develops and maintains clinical site affiliations. Maintains the rules and regulations outlined by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
Qualifications
Master of Science Degree in Nursing required. Doctorate preferred. Unencumbered Michigan Registered Nurse License and BLS certification required. Prior teaching experience preferred.
