Job Description
The Program Manager supports the daily operations of academic achievement and enrichment. This role manages the honors program, undergraduate research, and experiential learning requirements and provides information to students who are interested in applying for prestigious awards, scholarships, and fellowships.
The Program Manager provides crucial support to academic achievement and enrichment in alignment with institutional goals for student retention and graduation rates, using data-informed practices to drive continuous improvement. This role manages important aspects of academic enrichment, fostering a culture of collaboration and trust within academic achievement and enrichment and across campus to ensure a cohesive and student-centered approach to academic enrichment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages honors program, providing guidance to students on expectations and sharing relevant resources and information to enhance students’ honors experience at S&T
- Supports undergraduate research efforts through management of the Opportunities in Undergraduate Research Experience (OURE) program, which provides students with scholarships and encourages student participation in research activities and events, including the Research Day at the Capitol and the annual S&T research conference in the spring
- Assist in managing experiential learning requirements, collaborating with academic programs and the Registrar’s Office to ensure requirements are appropriately tracked
- Work with other areas of academic achievement and enrichment (retention specialist, academic advising, study abroad, career opportunities and employer relations) to support engagement in academic enrichment activities
- Support students who are interested in applying for prestigious awards, scholarships, and fellowships, including coordinating writing workshops with the Writing and Communication Center and connecting students to other available resources
Shift
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm; Some evenings and weekends
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–3 years of higher education experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Microsoft Office
- Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,916-$60,000 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
