DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers the full lifecycle of internal funding programs, including seed grants, pilot awards, and strategic investment initiatives, from solicitation through post-award reporting
- Coordinates proposal review processes, including reviewer recruitment, panel scheduling, conflict-of-interest management, and preparation of evaluation materials and scoring rubrics
- Tracks, analyzes, and reports outcomes and return-on-investment metrics related to internal funding programs, such as publications, student involvement, external submissions, and awards.
- Supports faculty in converting internal funding into externally sponsored proposals by assisting with institutional data, bio sketches, facilities documentation, and standard proposal language.
- Coordinates limited submission opportunities, including internal communications, application intake, and routing of review materials.
- Develops and maintains research development communications, including newsletters, program announcements, research highlights, and success stories.
- Maintains research development program files, databases, and tracking systems to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with institutional requirements.
- Prepares annual summary reports and other research development documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Job Summary
Develops, organizes and implements comprehensive programs in the assigned college, department and/or unit. Responsible for preparing and organizing programs and activities. Promotes programs internal and external to the university and evaluates effectiveness. Ensures programs comply with university and USG policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, prepares, coordinates and implements assigned programs
- Manages and facilitates department communications including program marketing, website creation, mobile applications and social media
- Serves as liaison and communicates with academic divisions, colleges and departments
- May assist in developing, monitoring and managing budget processes
- Manages event planning, marketing and logistics
- Interprets, evaluates, develops and implements policies and procedures
- Creates, administers, and analyzes assessment programs
- Facilitates program components, post-program evaluation and operational reporting
- Assists with developing new programming
- Prepares operational reports and analysis to inform center-level reporting and decision-making
- May supervise assigned staff and/or student assistants
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Required Experience
Three (3) years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education administration, public administration, research administration, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
Experience with research development, proposal preparation, or internal funding program management
Prior experience working in a university research office or in direct support of faculty research
Proposed Salary
