Department Information
The School of Physics at Georgia Tech currently has 63 academic (Tenure Track and Non Tenure Track) and research faculty, and its graduate program is ranked 21st in the nation by US News and World Report. The School has a broad research program with strengths in astrophysics, condensed matter, atomic, molecular and optical physics, physics of living systems, nonlinear science and soft matter physics. The School is also a key player in interdisciplinary initiatives established within Georgia Tech, such as quantum systems, neuroscience, microbial dynamics, planetary sciences, and data science/machine learning. Its diverse student body comprises more than 130 graduate students and 275 undergraduate majors.
AI4Science @ Georgia Tech:
AI4Science is a College of Sciences-wide Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) in Sciences that fosters collaborations among faculty members across the college to drive innovation at the intersection of AI/ML and traditional scientific disciplines.The Center advances interdisciplinary research by organizing biweekly seminars, hosting biannual conferences, and providing seed funding for collaborative projects across Georgia Tech.The Center capitalizes on the extensive infrastructure and diverse AI/ML landscape at Georgia Tech to support its mission, including faculty across the Colleges of Computing and Engineering, the IDEaS IRI, Tech AI, and the ML Center at Georgia Tech. By providing infrastructure, expertise, and seed funding, the center empowers faculty members to apply state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques to tackle complex scientific challenges.
Job Summary Provide promotional, administrative, performance assessment, and financial/accounting services in support of assigned program(s) within a research center, academic unit, or other campus units of a school. These functions may encompass a variety of activities related to program success, including program marketing, administration, operations, and development.
This position will interact regularly with research, academic, and administrative management and staff within a school or center, across campus, and with vendors and sponsors.This position typically will advise and counsel research, academic, and administrative management and staff within a school or center and across campus, as well as vendors and sponsors.This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1Design/develop promotional and marketing materials to include those developed for specific target audiences in support of program outreach efforts
Job Duty 2Plan, schedule, and coordinate promotional events
Job Duty 3Coordinate administrative activities associated with program operations such as procurement, records maintenance, compliance, meeting arrangements and minutes, and document preparation.
Job Duty 4Develop, analyze, reconcile, and report financial data related to program operations.
Job Duty 5Develop and maintain performance assessment tools applied in program review to measure and report progress.
Job Duty 6Collaborate with internal and external entities to aid institutional or program support.
Job Duty 7Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational requirements:Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required work experience:Four to six years of job-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday systems and processes
- Knowledge of internal Georgia Institute of Technology processes and procedures
- Experience supporting student hiring and onboarding processes
- Experience planning and coordinating events, including reservations, catering, and reimbursement processing
- Strong organizational and administrative coordination skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop a team from the ground up
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments
- Bachelor's degree
Proposed Salary
Pay Range: $64,000 - $74,000/yr.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities This job requires working knowledge of research program promotion and administration. Included skills in development and administering program assessment tools, marketing, and financial analysis and reporting. Also required are skills in planning, organization, spoken and written communications, scheduling, and customer service. Use of the office and specialized computer applications and databases is required.
