Program Services Specialist Teacher Preparation

Job Description:

• Establishes program goals and provides recommendations regarding problems and issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices.
• Provides comprehensive advising and co-curricular support services to eligible students, including but not limited to developing individual student development plans and facilitating sessions with students on academic probation.
• Resolves problems and determines appropriate actions. Monitors grades and student progress. Provides referral and direct service for students in need of academic support.
• Collects and analyzes data to lead projects of moderate scope and complexity to ensure quality student success services.
• Collaborates with University faculty and staff for student success. Maintains accurate records of services and ensures compliance to all policies and procedures of the University.
• Provides training and work direction to student mentors and tutors.

Short Job Description:

• Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
• Three years' relevant experience.
• Experience working with low income, first-generation students and students with disabilities.
• Experience teaching and advising in higher education.
• Proven knowledge of assessment methods, college student development theory, mentoring theory and practice, and program development and evaluation.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel.
