Program Support Generalist
Posting Summary
Provide administrative and programmatic support to the P20 COBRE Grant (TGIR) within the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (MMG). Coordinate and execute weekly seminars as well as several large infectious disease research-related symposiums or program meetings. Provide administrative support to TGIR faculty and staff including copying, scanning, preparing documents, scheduling meetings and spaces. Maintain program-wide scientific and programmatic documents, templates, and ordering supplies. Interface with internal and external vendors. Maintain databases in support of faculty research and attend regular project meetings. Prepare and disseminate minutes. Maintain electronic document storage. Manage unit travel requests and reimbursements. Maintain TGIR website presence and assist MMG colleagues with media presence and public relations at large. Interface with biomedical investigators, internal and external advisory board members.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in related field and two to three years' related experience, proficient with many software applications used to support office functions, competent with learning new software and processes. Effective interpersonal communication skills required. Highly self-motivated individual with effective writing and excellent organizational skills required. Fundamental understanding of biomedical research and biologic systems required in communication with biomedical scientists.
Desirable Qualifications
Administrative experience in an academic/research environment highly desirable.
