Programme Manager for AI Singapore (Research)
Job Description
AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.
AI Singapore is sourcing for an individual to join as a Programme Manager.
The role of the Programme Manager is to support the development of AISG’s strategic plans and facilitate the implementation of major, cross-AISG initiatives. The Programme Manager will also be responsible for planning, executing, and tracking the progress of programmes under the AISG Research pillar.
The Programme Manager will report to the Director of Planning and Operations, and Director of Research.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Programme Manager is expected to:
- Develop strategic plans and policies to guide AISG’s direction. This includes scanning of the international AI landscape to identify major technology trends that could impact AISG’s research focus.
- Work with funding agencies to develop funding proposals, and scope out initiatives and funding mechanisms.
- Plan, coordinate and communicate AI Research project plans, timelines and activities to AISG stakeholders (internal/external).
- Participate in pre-project activities such as estimation of project efforts, preparation of high-level project plan with project timeline and resource requirements.
- Manage and coordinate programme/project deliverables, ensuring research quality and impact.
- Keep a complete record of all project documentation (minutes, presentations, terms and conditions) to allow for easy and quick extraction for audit purposes.
- Lead performance reporting of initiatives. This includes collecting and analysing data to understand our progress and impact, and assessing where changes are required.
- Serve as the secretariat for AISG’s senior management and scientific advisory board meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills, with ability to drive multiple initiatives concurrently and meet timelines.
- Experience and background in AI, technology / R&D management or policy will be preferred.
