About the role

King’s College London is seeking candidates at all levels of experience with the drive and passion to deliver high quality customer service to support our strategic aims. This is an ideal opportunity to commence or further your career in Higher Education administration.

The School of Education, Communication and Society are looking for a Programme Officer to join our education team supporting teaching across the School.

The Programme Officer will act as a first point of contact for students and academic staff, providing a professional, supportive, responsive and personable service. The role organises support for processes across the whole academic cycle, ensuring accurate and timely record management across multiple systems. It would be a great opportunity for anyone with a passion for supporting the delivery of excellent education from the heart of London.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract (maternity cover) until 18/12/2026.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft documents and correspondence
  2. Excellent organisational and time management skills
  3. Ability to work as part of a team and relate to a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner
  4. Ability to work independently and take initiative
  5. Strong numeracy skills and the ability to analyse complex data
  6. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new systems
  7. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy at all times
  8. Understanding of good customer service, and ability deliver this to a high standard

Desirable criteria

  1. Demonstrated programme administration experience, preferably gained within a Higher Education context.
  2. Experience of working in a customer-facing environment
