Programmer Analyst II - SHP Educational Technology
Position Description
The Programmer Analyst II's role is to develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Programmer Analyst II will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
Major/Essential Functions
- Develop, implement, and maintain API services to enable seamless data exchange across systems and platforms.
- Generate, test, enhance and maintain web-based applications, user interfaces, and interactive features.
- Design database schemas, tables, and relationships to support the organization's data needs.
- Write SQL queries to retrieve, update, and manipulate data efficiently.
- Create and maintain Power BI reports to derive actionable insights from complex datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for processes, workflows, and best practices across API development, Web development, data management, and business intelligence analysis.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including business users, team members, and management
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to various web applications, LMS, data processing, and reporting.
- Remain informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in API development, web development, database management, and business intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science.
- Experience with web-based technologies such as MVC/C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and SQL databases.
- Experience in Python and R languages for Data Analysis.
- Experience with business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, for data visualization and reporting.
- Experience with programming languages, data structures, web design and development concepts.
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems and Content Management Systems.
- Experience with data analysis techniques and methodology.
- Experience with full-stack development.
- Experience with code versioning systems such as GitHub or TFS.
- Experience with analysis, testing and validation of data derived from vendor platforms such as Qualtrics.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.
