Programmer Analyst

Position Summary
The UCLA Department of Computer Science is seeking an IT professional to support the IT team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in installation, configuration, maintenance, as well as security of computer systems.

Salary & Compensation
UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
- 2-3 years Working in IT security (Required)
- A minimum of two years of experience in installing and maintaining system-level software on Sun computers (Required)
- Demonstrated detailed knowledge of the Unix operating system and available system resources (Required)
- Working knowledge of systems hardware architectures in Sun computers (Required)
- Detailed knowledge of computer security issues, security resources available and possess the ability to adapt to changing security needs of the department (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of networking and common communication protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP (Required)
- Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical users regarding solutions and security issues (Required)
- Advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software (Required)
- Demonstrated skills associated with adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs. Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent/related functions. (Preferred)
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. (Required)
