The mission of the Center for Student Leadership (CSL) is to provide all UCI students with the necessary skills and opportunities to engage the campus and the broader world as authentic and transformational leaders. The CSL serves as a hub for student leadership by connecting students with opportunities to develop as leaders and practically apply their leadership skills throughout the university. The CSL is firmly rooted in the value of social justice and trains students not to simply manage the world as it is, but to envision what it might be and boldly pursue positive social and institutional change both on campus and beyond. This deep engagement with the transformative power of leadership begins with orientation and continues through graduation.
Your Role on the Team
Under the supervision of the Director of the Center for Student Leadership (CSL), the incumbent will assist in the planning, development, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive campus programs; serving as primary support for all CSL programs and general administrative support for the center. This position includes specialized project management and coordination; administrative duties; and graphic design for all CSL programs. In addition, the Programs Assistant will provide administrative support for all CSL staff by performing duties including, but not limited to, processing of business services documents, purchasing for the center, and helping to maintain and organize the workspace. The incumbent will also assume primary responsibility for CSL website maintenance, marketing, and social media as well as website maintenance, marketing, and social media for Student Life & Leadership.
This position may support another department within Student Life & Leadership with financial and purchasing needs (PalCard purchases, KFS processing, Purchase Orders, Vendor onboarding, etc.)
What It Takes to be Successful
Required:
- Extensive Knowledge of Macintosh computer and specific software packages (i.e. Filemaker, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop). Knowledge of HTML and Website design. Skill to conceptualize, lay out, and design flyers and brochures using desktop publishing and graphics software. Fast, accurate typing skills with special emphasis on accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation. Good oral and written communication skills to convey thoughts and ideas clearly. Ability to work independently, set priorities, meet deadlines and work on various projects concurrently. Interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of UCI accounting, purchasing and budget procedures. Knowledge of UC Policies and procedures. Skill to research, collect and analyze data.
Special Conditions:
- Will need to work occasional evenings and weekends.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $29.40-$30.04 (Hourly).
