Organization Profile: The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of the Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients. He gave the name “Hamdard” to his venture which means “sympathy for all and sharing of pain”.

Job Title: Project Assistant

Essential qualification: Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Life sciences/Biomedical Sciences or allied subjects

Preferable: Candidates with prior working experience in the field of molecular biology and microbiology will be preferred.

Name of the Research Project: “Deciphering the Functional Link between Ubiquitin Proteosome Pathway and Xenophagy: Role of PE_PGRS protein family of Mycobacterium tuberculosis”

Desirable: Research experience and publication in the field of biosensors and nanomaterial.

Name of sponsoring agency: DST-SERB-funded project

Duration of the position: Initially for a period of six months. Further continuation with the provision of extension from the funding agency and subject to satisfactory performance of the fellow.
