Organization Profile: The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Job Title: Project Assistant

Title: Novel cell penetrating Phosphorodiamidate Morpholino Oligomer based therapy for IBD targeting sphingosine kinase1

Department: School of Applied and Interdisciplinary Sciences

Research Area: Synthesis of antisense oligonucleotide for biological applications on polymer support.

Duration: 1 year from the date of joining and extendable for another 1 year

Essential Qualifications: A candidate should have a first class or a high second class B.Sc. & M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (Inorganic or Organic) with minimum average marks of 55% and research experience in handling the organic reaction. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in the labeling / conjugation of DNA/RNA or polymers and knowledge on the characterization techniques by spectroscopy or any other methods.

Fellowship: Rs. 20,000 including HRA per month as per the project guidelines.
