One of the first 16 Universities in India, the University of Kerala was founded as the University of Travancore in the erstwhile princely state of Travancore (now the southern part of Kerala and some neighboring parts of the state of Tamilnadu) in 1937. During the 7 decades since the University of Kerala grew and shrunk physically and transformed itself in many ways. It is difficult to summarize what the Kerala University is in a brief space.

Job Title: Project Associate I

Title of the Project: Synthesis and antibacterial evaluation of compounds derived from tryptanthrin and 13-carbolines targeting MDR bacterial pathogens (SPG/2023/000179).

Qualification: MSc Chemistry from a recognized Institute/University or statutory body OR equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate score; For SC/ST category, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate score

Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having (i) CSIR/UGC JRFNET/GATE (ii) working experience in a synthetic organic lab or industry

Consolidated Remuneration: 30,000/- per month

Project Duration: Up to the termination of project, subject to annual performance review. Project is upto August 2026 only.
