Organization Profile: Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) is an institution of National Importance under an Act of Parliament (THE INDIAN INSTITUTES OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP) ACT, 2017). It offers B.Tech. courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE), M.Tech. courses in CSE and ECE and runs PhD programmes in ECE, CSE, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). IIITG started operations in August 2013 with B.Tech programmes in CSE and ECE. The first batch of B.Tech. students completed their programme in May 2017. The first convocation of the Institute was held on May 15 2018. The institute has further received funding for infrastructural development and academic improvement under TEQIP III.

Essential Qualifications: Applicant must fulfil both of the following criteria: 1. Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks. or 2. MSc (Electronics) or Equivalent Non-Tech Master’s Degrees in the relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks having a GATE/NET/SLET score in ECE/EE/IN/CS/BM or 3. Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 or 65% of marks

Stipend: For GATE/NET Qualified: Rs.31,000 per month from SERB till the project ends. After the project ends, the student will receive support from an Institute fellowship. For GATE/NET not Qualified: Rs.25,000 per month from SERB+Rs. 6000 (top-up support) from the ECE Dept. of the Institute till the project ends. After the project ends, the student will receive support from an Institute fellowship
