About the Department of Social Medicine

Department Summary:
The Project Coordinator will support research, planning, and outreach activities across multiple research projects within the Department of Social Medicine. This position will assist with mapping existing data sources, documenting code, and facilitating the development and upload of code repositories for wider community use. The Project Coordinator will also lead dissemination efforts and provide operational support for research initiatives, including coordinating manuscript submissions and organizing and promoting research related events. This is a one-year, part-time term position, with the possibility of extension for up to two years.

Conducts or assists with social sciences lab work and research.
Level Summary
Provides professional expertise to the University community. Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or university. Completes operational tasks essential for the daily functioning of the University. Additionally, contributes to larger projects or initiatives that align with department or University goals, often collaborating across teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May assist in mentoring or training new employees.
Fiscal Responsibilities
No budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions.
Problem Solving
Handles a variety of problems with some independence.
Independence of Action
Some supervision; able to work independently on routine tasks.
Communication and Collaboration
Collaborates with team members and shares knowledge.
Physical Requirements
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree

Pay Rate: The approved hiring range for this position is $19.38 to $24.70 per hour. Offers outside of this range require additional approvals. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate's education and experience in relation to the minimum qualifications for the position. This is a one-year, part-time term position, with the possibility of extension for up to two years.
