The Office of the Vice Provost for Sustainability and Climate Action (OVPSCA) is looking for a dynamic, collaborative individual to serve as the project manager in a fast-paced office whose culture is committed to mutual respect, equity, self reflection, and continual learning. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Sustainability and Climate Action and working with the Director of Strategic Initiatives in the newly-established OVPSCA, you will be responsible for a variety of strategic projects focused on sustainability, climate action, and environmental equity that promote the OVPSCA vision. Your role will include engagement with a variety of partners, including faculty, staff, policymakers, business leaders, and members of the broader Michigan and global community. You will manage the development of the OVPSCA web presence and work with communications experts to develop marketing collateral for the OVPSCA. You will also work with the Director of Strategic Initiatives to develop the metrics to present and visualize OVPSCA strategic goals. We ask that you are available for occasional evening and weekend work, and up to two multi-day trips a year to accommodate workshops and events.

The position is designed as a hybrid role with a blend of remote and onsite responsibilities.

• Develop project and resource allocation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage and lead cross-functional project teams.
• Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status updates, and closure meetings.
• Develop and manage project budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting on project expenses.
• Develop methods to collect data, perform analysis, and present information to inform decision-making.
• Work with the Director of Strategic Initiatives to implement curricular and research priorities, including scaling the Michigan Futures Initiative, a brand-new strategic initiative to advance high-impact climate, sustainability, and environmental research at the University of Michigan.
• Develop methods to collect data, perform analysis, and present information to inform decision making.
• Work with the Director of Strategic Initiatives to create a maturity model for university sustainability and climate action priorities and track progress over time.
• Manage and assign project-specific tasks to the student team, in partnership with the vice provost and assistant vice provost.
• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years project management experience.
• At least five years of experience working or collaborating with community, government agencies, non-profit, industry, or higher education institutions in the context of project management.
• Experience assembling project teams, identifying resources and project roles, and developing implementation plans for projects.
• Experience leading multiple, multi-phase, concurrent projects from launch to management and completion.
• Experience gathering information and analyzing data both independently and as part of a team.
