Summary/objective
The Project Manager, Faculty Development will support and manage the design, development and delivery of all faculty development programs including the Get AHEAD curriculum that focuses on professional development of all AO North America learners (residents, fellows and practicing surgeons). The project manager will work closely with the Chief Learning and Strategy Officer (CLSO) in the design, development and delivery of these programs and support planning and logistics as well. This position will also provide onsite support for the relevant events.

Curriculum Development and Documentation for Faculty Education Programs
- Collaborate with educators, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to define learning objectives and outcomes for faculty professional development programs.
- Collaborate with the CLSO to adopt backward planning strategies to align curriculum with desired
- Serve as project manager to develop and implement educational programs and curriculum materials.
- Facilitate communication between curriculum development teams, instructors, and relevant departments for the development and delivery of content.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of all aspects of curriculum development.
- Document learning objectives, instructional strategies, assessments, and feedback mechanisms.
- Manage timelines, milestones and accomplishment of program goals.
- Ensure approval of changes in programs, content and all subsequent edits and updates.
Faculty Development:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Faculty Education Program (FEP), Chair Education Program (CEP), and Leadership Education Program (LEP).
- Collaborate with the CLSO to align program objectives with institutional goals and educational priorities.
- Work closely with Meeting Manager and Office Manager to coordinate logistics for programs, including lodging, transportation, room set-up, and food and beverage arrangements.
- Ensure a seamless and comfortable experience for participants.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, faculty members, and program participants to communicate program details, expectations, and updates.
- Foster a positive and engaging environment conducive to learning and collaboration.
- Maintain detailed documentation of program content, participant feedback, and evaluation results.
Get AHEAD:
- Support the CLSO as project manager in accomplishing the goals of the program
- Manage timelines, goals and milestones related to the five different tracks and curricula developed.
- Serve as a liaison to faculty to help schedule, plan, develop and deliver the get AHEAD curricula.
- Work with the different stakeholders and marketing team to engage different groups of learners in participating in the program
- Coordinate with the digital learning team to support the online implementation of the different programs
- Support meetings and onsite curriculum meetings to document and define milestones and other tasks related to the project.
- Lead the onsite implementation of the programs at OneAO and other events collaborating with meeting managers, participants and faculty involved.
Competencies
- Ability to develop a basic subject-matter understanding through materials provided and ability to perform individual research/collaboration with course/content stakeholder.
- Ability to effectively communicate processes and procedures to faculty as they begin to leverage instructional technologies within curriculum
- Demonstrated writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting of customer-ready materials
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Strong consulting and interpersonal skills; able to work in a team environment.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to work with senior leadership
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement instructional materials and solutions following defined processes to include structured courseware, job aids, and informal learning content
Supervisory responsibilities - Supervise Faculty Liaison.
Work environment
The work environment is standard indoor office environment. If working remotely, a home office must be ergonomically correct, away from noise and distraction, and access to high-speed internet consistently. This position allows for mostly remote work but employee must be within commuting distanc to the main office in Wyane, PA (Chester County) for meetings, training, and events.
Requires frequent evening conference calls, weekend meetings, and attendance at associations’ meetings to support surgeon schedules and programming.
Physical demands
The physical demands are standard office environment: sitting, standing, keyboarding, reading, and walking. Some moderate lifting for receiving and packing event materials.
Travel required
This position requires the employee to be in the office in Wayne, PA (Chester County) as needed for training, meetings, The travel for the work environment for association events and other courses is standard airline travel and hotel/convention center indoor environment. A valid passport is required for any international travel.and events.
Required education and experience
- MA, M.Ed or MS. in Education, Distance Learning, and related fields.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in an educational, corporate training, or professional services environment, with experience developing and using e-learning and multimedia technologies.
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
- Experience in the design, development, and evaluation of course materials for classroom and e-Learning environments
- Experience in adult learning theory and learner-centered pedagogy
- Moderate travel including possibility of international travel required, including weekends as course needs dictate.
- Ability to obtain an online ATD certification within the first 180-days of position start
