Project Manager, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Part Time

The college is undertaking a comprehensive Identity & Access Management (IAM) initiative, including a full IAM systems inventory and the development of a new governance framework. With support from an external consulting partner and internal subject matter experts, this project aims to improve identity lifecycle management, strengthen access controls, and modernize identity governance processes across the institution.

The Part-Time Project Manager will play a critical coordination and execution role by supporting the internal IAM specialist, helping manage internal stakeholders, support analysis of current-state IAM practices and ensure timely completion of tasks assigned by the external consultant. This position requires strong project management skills paired with hands-on experience working across multiple IAM platforms.

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Manage day-to-day project activities for the IAM inventory and governance framework initiative.
  • Track progress against project milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate work assignments between internal staff, IT teams, and external consultants.
  • Maintain project plans, schedules, risk logs, and status reports.
  • Ensure project documentation is updated, organized, and shared appropriately.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a primary project point of contact between internal departments and the IAM team.
  • Facilitate meetings, gather requirements, and manage feedback loops with campus stakeholders.
  • Communicate project expectations, updates, and decisions clearly and professionally.
  • Support organizational change management activities as IAM processes evolve.

IAM Support & Execution

  • Assist the internal IAM specialist with data gathering, system inventory tasks, and process documentation.
  • Help assemble and validate IAM-related artifacts such as access maps, system ownership lists, role definitions, and provisioning/deprovisioning workflows.
  • Support analysis of current-state IAM practices across various systems and identity stores.
  • Ensure tasks assigned by the consulting partner are followed through to completion.

Vendor/Consultant Collaboration

  • Coordinate schedules, deliverables, and task assignments with external IAM consultants.
  • Review recommendations and help translate them into actionable internal tasks.
  • Monitor contract deliverables to ensure alignment with project goals.
