Project Officer - Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition projects
Join the University to support some world leading project in Clean Maritime, supporting a range of academics and working with partners on the delivery of exciting new technologies.
This role is funded by the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition projects, where the University has been successful in 5 separate projects. These are all funded by DfT via Innovate UK where projects aim to support innovation and technology developments via collaborations across the maritime sector and with academia.
The 5 projects have different partners, work package expectations and academic and research expertise aligned, but all will follow the same innovate processes for quarterly reviews, mtgs, claims, audit and compliance. The work will cover all 5 projects but will be of a similar type of work for each of those. There are no direct reports for this role, and you will report into Dr Lauren Ansell who has oversight of the projects.
There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.
For this role, you will need to be on site 4 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.
You will be:
- Providing proactive administrative support and guidance to project staff on Innovate project activity, including monitoring performance against required outputs, record keeping, project procurement, eligibility rules, and audit requirements.
- Promoting best practice in the set up and maintenance of project filing and monitoring systems, both electronic (using MS OneDrive and SharePoint) and physical documentation.
- Researching, interpreting and manipulating data using a variety of systems, analysing and highlighting issues for further analysis and for use in project reports, claims, publications, etc.
- Co-ordinating and contributing to complex meetings, visits, conferences, committees and facilitates knowledge exchange.
- Supporting the team with data collection and preparation of reports, marketing material and other documentation required to ensure the accurate presentation of information necessary for the reporting requirements of the University, the project, funding bodies and key stakeholders / partners.
You will have:
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently without supervision
- Demonstrable ability to use initiative in problem-solving within a procedural framework and identifying possible solutions and actions
- Ability to act as an ambassador for the project and the University as a whole
- High attention to detail and accuracy
