James Cook University (JCU) is seeking a motivated and organised Project Support Officer to support the delivery of projects funded under the North Queensland Regional Training Hubs (NQRTH) program.

This role plays a key part in strengthening medical training pathways in regional Australia by providing high-quality administrative and communication support to ensure successful project delivery and governance.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Regional Medical Training, you will provide effective project administration, stakeholder communication, and coordination support to enable the achievement of NQRTH outcomes. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure activities are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with agreed processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide sound administrative and project support to ensure the successful delivery of NQRTH activities and outcomes
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality, tailored communications to keep stakeholders informed and engaged
  • Support the planning and coordination of events, workshops, and meetings
  • Identify opportunities to improve current activities and increase engagement with new and existing stakeholders
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on teamwork, respect, and innovation

About you

You will bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and have well-developed communication skills.

You will have:

  • A relevant degree qualification or at least two years’ related experience at the appropriate level
  • Demonstrated experience providing project or administrative support, including event or workshop coordination
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities
