Project Support Specialist, Communicative Disorders and Sciences
Position Summary
Prof. Wei Sun in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences seeks a Project Support Specialist in the Auditory Disorder Laboratory. The Project Support Specialist will conduct basic science and translational research on auditory disorders, including noise-induced hearing loss, tinnitus, and hyperacusis. This position will also assist graduate students in the computer science department to design mobile health devices on auditory and balance disorders.
Duties may include:
- Conduct auditory experiments on peripheral and central auditory systems.
- Anatomy of the peripheral and central auditory systems.
- Handle basic laboratory experiments on genetic research and data analysis.
- Assisting and supporting PI on translational research on auditory and balance disorders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in otolaryngology, audiology, or related majors
- Knowledge and training on inner ear anatomy and hearing disorders
- Experience in ear anatomy, molecular biology, and hearing evaluation
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in otolaryngology, audiology, or related majors
- Skills in imaging analysis using the Fiji or ImageJ system on confocal images
