Utah State University (USU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Provost and Executive Vice President (EVP). The Provost & EVP provides strategic vision and operational leadership for all academic and research programs and advances the land‑grant mission by supporting excellence in teaching, research, and service, strengthening community engagement and Extension, and promoting economic vitality throughout the state. As the chief academic officer, the provost and executive vice president provides intellectual leadership for all academic departments and multi-disciplinary programs, their faculty and staff, and budgets. The provost and executive vice president works collaboratively across all parts of the institution, including the statewide system, to promote academic excellence and achieve the goals of the next university strategic plan. The provost reports to the president and serves on the university’s senior leadership team.

Utah State is a nationally renowned Carnegie-recognized R1 land-grant public research university with eight statewide campuses serving mountain west students across the region. The nearly 1,200 full-time faculty members teach in more than 120 undergraduate majors, along with over 90 masters programs and 40 doctoral programs. The university includes the College of Arts and Sciences; the College of Engineering; the College of Veterinary Medicine; the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services; the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business; the S.J. & Jesse E. Quinney College of Agriculture & Natural Resources; and the USU Library, on the main campus in Logan, Utah. Review of applications for the Provost and Executive Vice President will begin immediately and continue until an appointment is made. To assure full consideration, applications should be received by April 3, 2026, and must include:

  • A letter of interest addressing the priorities and expectations for leadership identified in the profile;
  • A current curriculum vitae; and
  • The contact information (email and phone) for five professional references, including their relationship to the candidate.
