Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs
The University of Montana Western seeks a confident and experienced individual to serve as Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs. As the chief academic officer, the Provost is responsible for the integrity and vitality of the academic enterprise, reporting to the Chancellor. Key responsibilities include overseeing faculty hiring, development, tenure, promotion, and evaluation; developing course schedules with Division Chairs; assisting with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement; overseeing curricular reviews and new curricula development; participating in strategic plan implementation; representing the university in academic affairs; and encouraging faculty engagement in experiential learning.
Qualifications include a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution, preferably with tenure and full professorship, experience in academic administration, budget management, strategic planning, and accreditation processes. The ideal candidate is student and faculty-oriented, with strong communication skills, a collaborative style, and experience in a collective bargaining environment.
