Department Summary
This is a psychologist generalist position that requires a doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology to provide mental health services to Ohio University students at Counseling and Psychological Services. Duties include individual and group counseling, crisis and after-hours' emergencies, outreach programming and consultation, supervising Doctoral and Masters level interns and trainees.
- Provide individual, couple and group counseling, conduct initial intake and triage assessments and psycho-diagnostic assessments, crisis interventions, and after-hours' response.
- Provide outreach programming, consultation, committee work. Actively participate in university-wide Well-being initiatives.
- Supervise and evaluate clinical work of doctoral and/or masters interns and trainees.
- Attend weekly clinical and staff meetings and participate in committees within and outside the center. Participate in the Center and Division Engagement initiatives
- Complete clinical documentation and clinical preparation; perform administrative duties as assigned by the director.
Position Profile
Provides psychological and counseling services to patients with psychological, academic, and interpersonal concerns. May provide services in a specialized area. Provides triage, intervention, and crisis support services. Conducts interviews, performs assessments, and formulates treatment plans. Provides individual and group therapy. Collaborates with other medical personnel concerning patient care. Coordinates and/or participates in community outreach programs.

This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a terminal degree (Ph.D. or Psy. D.) in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or in a related field and 3 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience. Healthcare professionals must hold, or be eligible for, appropriate licensure as required by position.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants must hold or be eligible to get licensed as a psychologist in Ohio within 18 months of hire. A strong generalist with interest in working with college age population
