Psychology Instructor, Part-time Adjunct Pool

Basic Function

Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. The starting salary range is $67.00/hour.

Representative Duties

Provide instruction in psychology courses, particularly General Psychology, for transfer to four-year institutions. The general psychology course is a 54 hour lecture course which offers students an introduction to the scientific study of behavior: perceptions, thinking, motivation, emotion, intelligence and learning, as well as general psychological principles.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in psychology; OR Bachelor's in psychology AND Master's in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, or social work; OR Possession of a valid credential which authorizes full-time teaching of Psychology at the California Community College level; OR The equivalent. A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
