Position Announcement

Under the direction of the Custodial Manger, performs a full range of regular and recurring custodial duties for Utah Tech University.

Responsibilities

Responsible for maintenance of assigned University building(s).
Cleans and maintains floors by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing and cleaning carpet.
Cleans and supplies restrooms, using disinfectant and acid chemicals.
Cleans and maintains entrances to building(s) and perimeter of buildings(s), such as picking-up trash, removing gum, graffiti, cobwebs etc.
Collects and disposes of garbage.
Wash walls, whiteboards, furniture, remove chewing gum, smudge, black marks, graffiti etc.
Wash windows and window frames.
Assists with special projects throughout the campus as directed by Custodial Manger and Lead Custodian.
Clean and maintain assigned areas and equipment.
Perform inside and outside manual labor.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age by the end of August 2026
Establish and maintain effective working relationship with fellow employees and those contacted in the scope of work.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Work independently in the absence of supervision.

Working Conditions and Typical Physical/ Mental Demands: Exposure to conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dust, mists, gases and poor ventilation, as well as exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Moderately heavy physical activity exerting 25 - 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or10-25 pounds of force frequently. Physical demands include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling and feeling.
