PT Faculty - Teacher Education (POOL)
Job Summary
Atlanta Metropolitan State College is seeking applications for part-time faculty to teach and/or supervise students in Teacher Education classes. Successful applicants should be able to teach undergraduate level courses, support the goals of a program embedded in a Professional Development Community (PDC) model, and foster preservice elementary teachers' confidence and efficacy in teaching elementary education in early childhood and special education settings.
Responsibilities
Instruction and Student Support
- Conduct in-person classes as scheduled, adhering to designated times, locations, and durations.
- Provide students with a comprehensive syllabus in compliance with faculty handbook guidelines.
- Maintain availability for student consultations outside of scheduled class time.
Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities
- Accurately maintain student performance records, including attendance, mid-term grades, proof rosters, and final grades in Banner by institutional deadlines.
- Submit required assessment data to the Assessment Coordinator at the end of each semester.
Engagement and Collaboration
- Participate in faculty and supervisory meetings as required.
- Collaborate with institutional staff to support program goals and compliance with policies.
Travel and Supervision (if applicable)
- Travel to local school systems or Atlanta Metropolitan State College as necessary.
- Conduct site visits for students in field placements if supervisory responsibilities are assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education: Master's degree or 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
Experience: 6 months supervisory experience; Experience or exposure in early childhood.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: Three years teaching experience in a public-school K-5 setting. Georgia teaching certificate.
