This is a continuous posting, not an announcement for a specific vacancy. We are building the pool of qualified applicants for possible future part-time teaching vacancies and for those who have been hired as part-time instructors within the College of Health Sciences.
The departments housed within this college are Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health & Human Performance, EMS, Medical Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Technology, Health Administration, Recreation & Sport Management, Population Health, and Medical Laboratory Sciences.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses as assigned, under the direction of the Department Chair or Program Coordinator. A course catalog by division, major, and discipline is found online at https://catalog.utahtech.edu/courses/
- Provide service to department, college, and university committees as assigned.
- Hold office hours and meet with students enrolled in assigned courses.
- Abide by all applicable executive orders, federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, as well as University policies and procedures relating to adjunct faculty and general campus employment. Attend and/or complete required trainings by the University and additional training as determined by the Department or Program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Degree preferred) for Surgical Technology, EMS, CNA, and Phlebotomy courses. Master's degree in related field required for all other courses.
- Licensure or certification in State of Utah required, as applicable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of course content required.
- Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively teach students using a variety of instructional methods and apply best practices in the discipline.
- Ability to communicate with diverse groups.
- Ability to use student-centered instructional strategies and techniques.
- Ability to motivate and fairly evaluate student progress and achievement.
- Must be a resident of Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, or Florida to teach online or virtual courses.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time instructor position, paid at $1000 per credit hour beginning Fall 2026 and governed by University Policies 631 and 638. Fall Semester 2026 begins August 19th.
