Essential functions (job duties):
The Department of English seeks to hire Part-Time Faculty on an intermittent basis to teach English composition courses in the Fall 2026 and possibly the Winter 2027 semesters.
Job duties include:
- Prepare and develop lectures and course materials according to department guidelines.
- Provide instruction in engaging and innovative formats.
- Communicate student progress in a timely manner.
- Meet with students one-on-one during regular office hours announced in the syllabus at the beginning of the semester.
- Adhere to all department and university policies and procedures.
- Create a classroom environment that supports and encourages inclusivity.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in English or field related to primary area of teaching.
- Flexible availability to teach day and evening courses on various days.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use technology to support course instruction.
Preferred qualifications:
- Two years prior teaching experience and proof of demonstrated success in a university or college setting.
