Public Safety Officer
The public safety officer serves and protects the campus community. Duties include but are not limited to ensuring buildings are secured and safe, making themselves available to the students, faculty and staff for assistance and assisting in emergency situations on campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Foot, bicycle and motor patrol.
- Responding to medical and other emergencies.
- Report writing.
- Operate and maintain the command center (building alarm systems, fire safety and closed-circuit televisions systems).
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- More than 8 years of work-related experience
- Licensed pursuant to the New York State Security Guard Act of 1992
- Certified in first aid, CPR/AED/Narcan
- Valid New York State Driver's License
- Microsoft Office (Outlook)
SCHEDULE: Shift (3:00pm to 11:00pm) - Days off to be determined. Regular evening, holiday, or weekend work required: Hours based on the needs of the University and staffing.
REMOTE WORK: No
HOURS/WEEK and MONTHS/YEAR: 40 hours/week and 48 weeks/year (11-month)
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly
