"Purchasing & Accounts Payable Assistant"

Shenandoah University’s Purchasing & Accounts Payable Department is accepting applications for a Purchasing & Accounts Payable Assistant. This is a full-time benefited position located in the Bowman Building, downtown Winchester, Virginia.

Responsibilities: Process a variety of items for the Purchasing and Accounts Payable office while ensuring appropriate documentation per the University’s policies and procedures. Complete and/or provide back-up to others within the department on the following tasks:

• Process Employee reimbursements
• Request and process vendor invoices
• Ensure contracts and invoices are paid timely
• Process requisition and purchase orders
• Handle disbursement checks
• Verify purchasing card reconciliations
• Input accurate data
• Vendor and internal inquiries
• Various administrative/office tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and Google preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Provide great customer service in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of purchasing, accounts payable, and/or general accounting preferred
• A minimum of 1-3 years work experience is required and/or 2-3 years college education is preferred
