Job Description

The School of Art at Bowling Green State University seeks a dynamic teacher and engaged colleague to contribute to the continued growth of our nationally recognized Digital Arts program. We invite applications for a full-time, renewable Qualified Rank Faculty (non-tenure track) position in Digital Arts to teach 3D modeling and animation with overlap in game design and development, beginning Fall 2026. This is a 9-month appointment.

Essential Functions

• Teach undergraduate courses in game design, 3D modeling, and animation.
• Mentor students and support their professional development.
• Locate contemporary issues in the digital arts within a range of historical and cultural contexts.
• Contribute to program and School of Art service as appropriate.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• MFA degree or equivalent (earned as of start date of employment) in digital arts, animation, or game development.
• Minimum of 2 years college-level teaching experience or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of 3D modeling and animation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of teaching experience at the college level.
• Professional industry experience in digital arts, animation, or game development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of game design, prototyping, and interactive media.
• Proficiency with 3D animation software such as Maya or Blender.
• Proficiency with game engine software such as Unity or Godot.
• Experience in other areas within the field of Digital Arts.
