Qualified Rank Faculty in Digital Arts
Job Description
The School of Art at Bowling Green State University seeks a dynamic teacher and engaged colleague to contribute to the continued growth of our nationally recognized Digital Arts program. We invite applications for a full-time, renewable Qualified Rank Faculty (non-tenure track) position in Digital Arts to teach 3D modeling and animation with overlap in game design and development, beginning Fall 2026. This is a 9-month appointment.
Essential Functions
- Teach undergraduate courses in game design, 3D modeling, and animation.
- Mentor students and support their professional development.
- Locate contemporary issues in the digital arts within a range of historical and cultural contexts.
- Contribute to program and School of Art service as appropriate.
Preferred and Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- MFA degree or equivalent (earned as of start date of employment) in digital arts, animation, or game development.
- Minimum of 2 years college-level teaching experience or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of 3D modeling and animation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of teaching experience at the college level.
- Professional industry experience in digital arts, animation, or game development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of game design, prototyping, and interactive media.
- Proficiency with 3D animation software such as Maya or Blender.
- Proficiency with game engine software such as Unity or Godot.
- Experience in other areas within the field of Digital Arts.
